Privacy Policy
How CCS handles website visits, inquiries, customer information, and information involved in authorized services.
Last updated: October 2, 2026
1. About this policy
Canandaigua Computer Service (“CCS,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit our website, contact us, or receive our services.
It covers CCS’s practices. Independent websites and services reached through external links have their own privacy policies.
2. Information you provide
When you contact CCS or request assistance, you may provide your name, email address, telephone number, service location, device information, a description of the issue, and other details relevant to your request.
The website does not currently have a contact form. Email and telephone links let you contact CCS through your own email or telephone service. Your correspondence may become part of the records used to respond to you and provide support.
Do not email passwords, verification codes, banking credentials, Social Security numbers, or sensitive identity documents. CCS will discuss appropriate access arrangements if information is needed for authorized work.
3. Information associated with website visits
The website is delivered through hosting and network services. Those services can process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, request times, and security or error events to deliver the website, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.
Technical information can identify or relate to a visitor and should not be assumed to be anonymous. Hosting and security processing may vary between the private website preview and the public deployment.
4. Cookies, analytics, and browser storage
CCS has not added advertising pixels or visitor-analytics scripts to the current website. The site’s application scripts do not set cookies or use persistent browser storage. The Knowledge Base search loads an index from this website and searches it in your browser; its application code does not send your search terms to a search provider.
The hosting, access-control, or security platform may use cookies or process request information for its own delivery and security functions. The private preview may require platform sign-in. These platform functions are separate from CCS’s website application.
You can manage cookies and related permissions through your browser. Blocking some platform functions may affect access. CCS will update this policy if it adds analytics or other features that change its information practices.
5. How CCS uses information
CCS uses relevant information to respond to inquiries, arrange and provide requested services, communicate about authorized work, troubleshoot issues, and provide customer support.
Information may also be used to maintain necessary business records, protect systems, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations. Information is not used for unrelated purposes without an appropriate basis.
6. Information encountered during service
Computer repair and IT support can require access to devices, files, settings, or accounts. CCS accesses information as needed for the work you authorize. Customers should participate in account sign-ins where practical and retain control of their accounts.
Transfer, backup, or recovery work may involve temporary copies of customer files. The need for such copies and their handling depend on the agreed work. Viewing information on a device does not necessarily mean that it is retained in CCS’s business records.
Remote access requires customer authorization. Access credentials shared for service are used for that purpose and are not retained after the work is complete. Do not provide credentials through ordinary email.
7. Service providers and information sharing
CCS uses service providers as necessary to operate its website, email, and business communications. Authorized work may also require a relevant support tool or interaction with the customer’s account or equipment provider.
Information may be processed by providers where necessary to deliver these functions. Providers operate under their own terms and privacy practices. CCS does not sell or rent personal information or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Information may be disclosed where required by applicable law or where lawfully necessary to address security issues, protect rights, or respond to legal process.
8. Storage and retention
Inquiries, correspondence, and service records may be retained for customer support, follow-up, recordkeeping, and applicable legal or accounting requirements. Retention depends on the information and the purpose for which it is needed.
9. Information security
CCS takes reasonable measures to protect information it handles, including limiting access as appropriate and using care in the handling of accounts, devices, and records.
No internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. CCS cannot guarantee absolute security. You should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information and use appropriate account protections.
10. Security incidents
If a security incident affects information handled by CCS, we will assess the circumstances and comply with applicable notification requirements. Notification depends on the nature of the incident and applicable law.
11. Privacy requests and choices
Contact CCS to ask how your information is handled or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Describe your request without including sensitive credentials or identity documents in an initial email.
CCS may need to verify your identity before responding. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or other lawful purposes. The rights and options available depend on the information and applicable law.
12. External websites and social media
The website links to social networks, business directories, official resources, and other independent websites. Clicking those links takes you to another provider whose privacy practices apply.
The footer social icons are ordinary links rather than embedded social feeds. CCS does not control information collected by those destinations and encourages you to review their policies.
13. Updates to this policy
Updates will be published on this page with a revised date. CCS will review the policy when features or practices change, such as the addition of forms, analytics, embedded content, or other information-handling functions.
A policy update does not by itself establish permission for an unrelated new use of previously collected information.
